We begin with a shot of the village and the
aftermath of the fight. The men find some sake and bring it to Gatenmaru.
One of the bandits grabs a woman and makes her pour a drink. One lengthy
sip later, he looks over at the cocoon and laughs, "You've weakened
considerably, half-demon. Serves you right siding with humans and meddling
in my affairs." A close up of Miroku, trying to hold up the barrier,
"We're in trouble, the barrier isn't going to hold out much
longer." "Damn," is all Inuyasha thinks. Gatenmaru grabs
the woman, asks if she's afraid, then proceeds to drain her of her life.
"Curse him. Leave them alone," he yells, only to suffer the
shock of the poison. Gatenmaru taunts him, and begins to pick on the
women. Everyone recoils in horror, and while they look on, the grandfather
from earlier muses, planning to take the Tetsusaiga from one of the
bandits and give it to Inuyasha so he can do some damage.
They cut him off, and are about to put the spear in
his back when out of nowhere..."Grandpa!" The little boy runs
over trying to protect his grandfather. The men plan to skewer both of
them, only to end up catching kicks in the face courtesy of Sango. Kagome
runs over, asks if the grandfather's alright, as he tells her to give
Inuyasha the sword. She looks around worried for Inuyasha, only for
Gatenmaru to order his men to bring him the girl. We see the barrier
beginning to break, and then the fighting ensues. Sango starts taking the
bandits out with the Hiraikotsu, as Kirara covers her. Shippo stands in
front of Kagome, looking for a target as Sango gets beat back. We see
Inuyasha and Miroku starting to hover, the whole floating possession deal
going on only for Inuyasha's eyes to take on the infamous red look.
Needless to say, it spells the end for the bandits. With a flash of light,
the cocoon rips apart, sending Miroku flying as Inuyasha proceeds to tear
through the bandits.
When he lands, looking at Gatenmaru, the moth demon
laughs. "You amuse me, but the show is over!" He transforms,
giving his true form. "You cannot defeat me, the demon Gatenmaru! Die
little man!" He starts making a poison whirlwind with his wings, only
for Inu to rip through and tear off his wings with his claws. Gatenmaru
falls, and looks up thinking, "Why does he carry the scent of pure
demon blood?" Shooting out more poison, he thinks he's melted
Inuyasha. When he's thought he's won, Inuyasha speaks up. "You
talking to me?" Looking up, we see Inuyasha bearing down on
him..."Filthy vermin!" One big swipe later, Gatenmaru is in
tatters and the men look up in fear, starting to run like hell. "You
won't escape," he says. Kagome looks on, scared for him as he tears
through the bandits.
Cut to a shot of the forest, someone calling out for
Sesshomaru. "Where are you master?!" Jaken is running around,
trying to find out what happened to Sesshomaru as Rin begins feeding A-Un.
He blames her at first, before realizing that Sesshomaru may have gone
after Inuyasha, recalling Boksenou's (the old tree demon) words. Rin asks
him what Inuyasha's like, and just as he is about to degrade Inuyasha for
being half-demon, Rin walks off, saying she doesn't like long stories.
Back to the village, where more bandits are dying by
the second. Inuyasha jumps in front of the last bandits, who begin begging
for their lives. Kagome tries to reason with him, to no avail. With a
laugh, he reaches his hand up before something makes him pause. He leaps
back, only to see none other than Sesshomaru. He remarks, "Huh...You
are nothing more than a murderous demon." A flashback of Boksenou's
words play..."Unfortunately for Inuyasha, the pure demon blood of his
father is too strong for a half-demon such as himself. In essence the
demon blood will attack the soul, he will not be able to recognize
himself." Looking on at his half-brother, he simply taunts.
"Come after me, Inuyasha. I wish to test your strength, transformed
as such." A moment, then Inuyasha runs at him with a full head of
steam. Sesshomaru pulls out the Tokijin and begins to throw energy at
Inuyasha. Miroku tries to get Inuyasha to reconsider, but all he does is
punch the sword away, cutting his arm open in about six different
directions. "That was foolish." More attacking from Inuyasha,
including one very close shave. On that note, when Sesshomaru backflipped,
he fired into Inuyasha again, this time sending him back flying. Kagome
yells, "Inuyasha!"
----Commercial-----
"Inuyasha!" We see our main hero go flying
back, only to wind up out colder than a dead fish. It appears that
Sesshomaru's going for the kill, and Kagome won't have it. "He has
finally been bought down." He then tells Kagome how to undo the
transformation. When he was asked by Miroku why he didn't finish Inuyasha
off, he simply said, "I will slay him, eventually. Why kill him now,
when he doesn't even know himself? There would be no point," then
walked off. Inuyasha came to, and after a short time looked at the damage
he did, not remembering any of it. The little boy tried to approach him,
but the ladies didn't allow it. "Don't get too close, or he'll kill
you too!" "I don't care if he is a demon! He did everything in
his power to save my grandpa!" Inuyasha looks at his claws, then
realizes what happened. "No. I hunted those men down. The power I
wanted wasn't like this." Cut to black, then a shot of Sango and
Miroku by the river. Miroku reveals what happened, and how each
transformation slowly chips away at Inuyasha's human side. Sango resolves
to stay by him as a way to return the favor for what happened with Kohaku.
We then see Kagome holding a towel, looking at
something. Inuyasha is standing in the river, washing his claws. "I
can't get the smell of blood off my hands. It's sickening!" He gets
out, and sits down. Kagome sits next to him offering a towel. Refusing it,
there's a moment of silence before he tells her, "You don't have to
force yourself to stay." She looks at him with pity, causing him to
get mad. He says how he doesn't have a problem with what happened before
Kagome tells him he's lying. He turns away, and she goes over to him,
wrapping her arms around him. "Inuyasha, I know how you feel."
He takes hold of one hand. "It wasn't like this before. The next time
I transform, I may come after you as well, Kagome." Close out with a
shot of Inuyasha and Kagome together.
